Improvisation classes will improve your:
how does improv work?
You don't need anything but your voice. You don't need to read music, or learn words or lines. The purpose of improv is to free yourself from musical convention, build confidence and apply the skills to your wider existence. The techniques will teach you to respond spontaneously to others around you, who are in turn responding to you.
Chris will introduce the topic of the evening and then talk about the improvisation technique related to the topic.
Each week, the class starts with a warmup that corresponds to the technique. For example- throwing words and sounds to each other, light physical manifesting of sound or one-on-one exercises involving an initiator and a responder. The classes cover techniques such as singing in unison, harmony, spoken word, call and response and the silence between notes and music.
Sound amazing? It really is.
No prior knowledge or experience is needed offering everyone involved much freedom to explore.

IMPROV GROUP TESTIMONIALS
In all my groups the common cry, because of the transient nature of Improv, is: "Why didn't we record that?"
"I have participated in some of Christine's workshops and I'm amazed at her ability to draw out the things in me that I didn't know were possibilities from the dissonant to harmonious.
How can I say how astonished I have been to find a voice - my voice? Chris is a true enabler. She brings out courage, trust, confidence and a willingness to dare."
"I can't remember so many of the exercises and games we did today, but I know I learned heaps and loved every minute of it"
"I liked the inclusiveness, the openness, and mostly the friendliness throughout the whole day. Thank you.
A wonderful experience. I learned heaps and want to do more of this. When are you coming to our region again?"
"I'm so glad I came, (to the workshop). I loved everything. It was massively creative"
"What a great way to connect with others and also, myself. I also loved Christine's passion and attention to the group. Felt like she was with me all the way and yet, she was with all of us. Great day. Thank you."
"It's so exhilarating to work in Christine's sensitive atmosphere. She lets you take the risk and is always supportive. Amazing to arrive tired out from the events of the day then leave full of energy!!"
"I could not believe that I still had a voice. I thought I'd lost it. Marraige, children, and a lifetime of leaving myself behind and caring more for others, meant that I didn't sing for years. In these groups, I found that I not only had a voice, but I also found a courage I didn't know I had. Thank you thank you Thank you Chris."
“It is only when the mind is free from the old that it meets everything anew, and in that there is joy.”
