Christine is a renowned improv teacher. She teaches techniques that make improvising an unconscious, effortless and ultimately enjoyable musical experience. Chris has worked with Hilde Knottenbelt at Creative Voice, and Al Wunder of Theatre of the Ordinary. Both these artists have influenced the way Christine companions people through a wonderful cache of musical textures.
Christine has directed madrigal groups that have performed at festivals and functions.
She is the founding member of The Boat Chorus - a group whose mission is to catch the ‘spirit’ of events and places and to explore a continuum of human experience through the medium of improvised vocalise and story.
Christine has composed music for feature-length and short films. She recently composed the music for Do Not Go Gentle, White Night Ballarat, and recorded the sound for Minerva Speaks, also in Ballarat.
Chris wrote the music for Silver Rememberings.
Ballaarat Mechanics Institute (BMI) comes to life in this beautiful film by Erin McCuskey.
In 2015 she composed and conducted for Day and Night Voices, 24 Hour Experience Ballarat. Other compositions include Flux, The Tamworths, the trailer for the Melbourne Queer Festival 2007.
Christine worked with Brunswick Women's Theatre, creating sound sculptures and soundscapes.
She has worked with musicians such as - Eugene Ughetti of Speak Percussion, Jethro Woodward, composer of Van Diemen's Land and Hells Gate, and Irene Valler of La Voce Della Luna
Christine pioneered the art of aural sculptures.
She was commissioned to write Kids Loops, a series of tracks and recordings of children's voices, edited and enhanced into musical vignettes.
Using repetition and rhythmic and melodic patterns, these act as audio time capsules and earmarking the spirit of childhood mannerisms.
The parents and families who have commissioned her soundscapes say that she has captured the essence of their child and that it is something that they will continue to listen to as it will always remind them of some of the quirky little things their child would come out with at that age.

We can be…. “A colourful Chameleon of Players, a chanter of ancient melodies in a new and improvised form, a tatterdemalion of Jesters with a pinch of Buffoonery and a smidgeon of gentlest mischief. But always we strive for that which is felt through the heart.”
