Improvisation classes will improve your:
how does improv work?
You don't need anything but your voice. You don't need to read music, or learn words or lines. The purpose of improv is to free yourself from musical convention, build confidence and apply the skills to your wider existence. The techniques will teach you to respond spontaneously to others around you, who are in turn responding to you.
Chris will introduce the topic of the evening and then talk about the improvisation technique related to the topic.
Each week, the class starts with a warmup that corresponds to the technique. For example- throwing words and sounds to each other, light physical manifesting of sound or one-on-one exercises involving an initiator and a responder. The classes cover techniques such as singing in unison, harmony, spoken word, call and response and the silence between notes and music.
Sound amazing? It really is.
You can attend casually, no prior knowledge or experience is needed offering everyone involved much freedom to explore.
